Widespread use of modern diagnostic imaging has increased the detection rate of non-parasitic cysts and polycystic liver disease. Advanced surgical techniques and various minimally invasive interventions have established a clear role in the treatment of this pathology. However, the lack of a standardized, universally accepted treatment algorithm makes it difficult for specialists to select the optimal method. Key criteria for an ideal technique, especially in polycystic liver disease, include therapeutic radicality and maximum preservation of healthy liver parenchyma. This article presents two clinical cases of successful treatment of non-parasitic cysts and polycystic liver disease using radiofrequency ablation (RFA). Follow-up observations demonstrated that RFA provided minimal surgical trauma and an absence of postoperative complications, leading to complete reduction of the operated cystic cavities within 2 to 2.5 years post-procedure.
Keywords: Liver cyst, polycystic liver disease, radiofrequency ablation, RFA, clinical case.
