A meeting of the Academic Council of the Avicenna Tajik State Medical University was held recently. During the meeting, the decision of the editorial board of the journal "Avicenna Bulletin" was announced to retract 90 articles published earlier between 2008 and 2016. After discussing the matter, the Academic Council unanimously supported the initiative of the editorial board of the journal "Avicenna Bulletin" (ATSMU Academic Council protocol No. 10 dated August 29, 2019)

Another meeting of the editorial board of the journal "Avicenna Bulletin" occurred when the new editorial board and council were approved. After reviewing the journal archive from 2008 to 2016 using an Anti-Plagiarism license program, it was discovered that 36 articles had unacceptably low uniqueness of texts, and 54 articles were recognized as repeated publications. As a result, it was decided to retract these articles, and corresponding requests for retraction will be sent to the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) and Cyberleninka Scientific Electronic Library

It was discovered that the authors of particular articles had illegally borrowed results from the dissertation by A.A. Gorokhov “The complex treatment of the cicatrical tracheal stenoses” to an unacceptable extent. As a result, the journal editors have launched a comprehensive campaign to thoroughly check the entire journal archive using an anti-plagiarism program
