Features of microbicidal system violations of neutrophilic granulocytes in infections combined with malaria in children

N.M. Khodjaeva, L.A. Babaeva, M.S. Fuzaylova

In the article presented the results of research the functional metabolic activity of neutrophilic granulocytes in 164 children with three-day and falciparum malaria, and combined with malaria infections: typhoid fever, paratyphoid fever, intestinal helminthiasis and mixed malaria (P.Vivax + P.Falciparum). Combination of tropical malaria with typhoid fever marked the most significant changes in microbicidal system of neutrophils lead to inhibition of myeloperoxidase, intracellular cationic protein, glycogen and lipids, and high rates of acid and alkaline phosphatases, indicating about disturbances in immune mechanisms of the first line protection. Long-term retention of functional disorders of phagocytes contributes to prolongation of the disease and development of adverse outcomes that can be used to predict the currency of mixed pathology and the formation of asymptomatic parasite carriers.

Keywords: three-day and tropical malaria, microbicidal system of neutrophils, mixed-pathology.
