The paper presents an investigation of 500 women aged 50 to 60 years in the postmenopausal period. Arterial hypertension was diagnosed in 36,8% of women, hypertension - at 72,2%, symptomatic hypertension - in 28,8% of women. AH in postmenopausal women is accompanied by disturbances of calcium and lipid metabolism. It should be noted that the abovementioned changes are interconnected and interdependent, as evidenced by the positive correlation between indices of total cholesterol and fractions of ionized serum calcium. It is possible that these disorders are one of the pathogenesis of AH in postmenopausal women and need to develop measures for their correction and prevention.
