The results of diagnosis and surgical treatment of 72 patients with a bleeding gastric cancer (BGC) were analysed. The reseaches showes that an effective method of diagnosis of this disease, along with fibrogastroduodenoscopy is endoscopic ultrasonography. For treatment of BGC in our clinic were proposed improving methods of gastrojejunostomy forming, which greatly reduces the risk of anastomosis insufficiency.

By developed technique 18 patients with BGC were operated. Postoperative complications occurred in 4 patients. Lethal outcome occurred in 3 cases due to postoperative peritonitis caused by the failure of sutures in duodenal stump.

Performing gastrectomy and subtotal gastrectomy improves immediate results of treatment of patients with BGC.
