Successful treatment of thoracoabdominal aortas hypoplasia

The article reported a brief review on the various levels of aortic hypoplasia and particular surgical approach in 16-year-old boy with a rare variant of congenital stricture of thoracoabdominal segment, accompanied by occlusion of the celiac trunk and superior mesenteric artery. The main clinical manifestation of disease was hypertension. Despite the involvement of visceral vessels, the patient had no signs of abdominal ischemia. The goal of performed operation - aorto-aortic bypass - was to lower blood pressure. To prevent the progression of abdominal ischemia simultaneously a plasty of strictered ostium of mesenteric artery was performed.
