Antiphospholipid syndrome in patient with severe pneumonia

A clinical case of patient with severe pneumonia, complicated by thromboembolic syndrome, exudative pleuritis, toxic nephropathy, myocardiopathy, erosive gastroduodenitis is observed.
At a blood total antibodies to antiphospholipid, cardiolipin, phosphatidyl-serin, phosphatidil- inositol and phosphatidil acid class G by indirect enzyme linked immunosorbent assay - ELISA revealed more than three-fold excess of the norm (34.3 U / ml versus 10 IU / ml). This case diagnosed as «catastrophic» antiphospholipid syndrome (acute disseminated coagulopathy / vasculopathy) with acute multiorgan thrombosis as a complication of pneumonia. The outcome of combined treatment - recovery.
