Quality of life in patients after the conventional and retroperitoneoscopic nephrectomy

The results of analysis of the survey data and treatment of 104 patients after retroperitoneoscopic and conventional nephrectomy is summarized in the article.

The clinical study showed that after a traditional nephrectomy 34 (85.0%) patients in the 1st day have pointed to a moderate or severe pain in the wound, and after retroperitoneoscopic surgery 18 (28.1%) - a moderate and only 1 patient - for severe pain. The vast majority of patients - 46 (71.9%) after retroperitoneoscopic and 6 (15.0%) after the traditional nephrectomy noted only discomfort (mild pain) to the first day after surgery.

At the same time found that the average number of patient days of hospitalization after the traditional nephrectomy was 9,8 ± 1,6 (6-14 days), and after retroperitoneoscopic nephrectomy - 6,0 ± 2,2 (3-9 days ), the period of rehabilitation and returning to normal life less after retroperitoneoscopic nephrectomy (15 to 25 days, on average, 20 days) than after conventional nephrectomy (25 to 40 days, an average of 30 days).
