In this paper has been analyzed and discussed issues of influence of acute gastroduodenal bleeding (AGDB) of peptic ulcer etiology in patients of elderly and old age.

A retrospective analysis the results of examination and treatment of 101 patients in this age group showed that the blood loss of medium and severe degrees were detected in 56 (55.4%) patients, whereas in 72 (71.3%) – light and medium degrees.

In 27 (26.73%) of the patients were ascertained severe course of disease, in which noted increasing the degree of myocardium’s expansion and a significant reduction of its contractile function, which clinically manifested by symptoms of congestive heart failure and atrial fibrillation.

ECG changes, typical for progressive myocardial hypoxia, and malfunction of conduction have prognostic importance, as they determine the degree of heartco-ordination.

Keywords: acute gastroduodenal bleeding of ulcer etiology, acute blood loss.
