This paper presents the results of a study 37 patients (aged 26 to 64 years) with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) by reduced levels of hemoglobin.

In 14 (37,8%) patients (group 1) significantly lower hemoglobin (<110 g / l) was noted, the remaining 23 (62,2%) patients (group 2) had normal hemoglobin levels.

As a result conducting therapy has been revealed that combination of methotrexate using with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in patients with highly active forms of RA within 12 months «aggressively» controls for RA than steroid hormones.

Anemic symptoms in patients with RA first of all is a marker of high activity and severity of disease. RA in patients with reduced levels of hemoglobin have severe and prolonged currency of disease, compared with patients without anemia.

Furthermore it should be noted that clinical improvements of roentgenologic parameters of RA progression occurs synchronously with reducing the levels of inflammation markers (CRP, ESR), which emphasizes the key role of inflammation in progression of rheumatoid arthritis.
