The review of literature presents different methods of nephrectomy in renal space-occupying lesions, including traditional open surgery and also laparoscopic and laparoscopic-assisted accesses.
Shown that laparoscopic and laparoscopic-assisted nephrectomy are effective, safe and minimally invasive techniques due to minimal trauma, good visibility and ease of manipulation compared to open surgery. The use of the surgeon’s hands during laparoscopic surgery stage provides tactile sensitivity and freedom of action, which is characterized by smaller time operationcompared with laparoscopic nephrectomy, and avoids the development of intraoperative complications and long intervention in obese patients and in previously operated patients. Laparoscopic methods of nephrectomy may be the method of choice and a valuable alternative to traditional open nephrectomy in renal space-occupying lesions.
