Medico-social and clinical characteristics of patients with drug-resistant types of tuberculosis in the Republic of Tajikistan

In evidentiated 203 patients with pulmonary tuberculosis multidrug-resistant of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MDR-TB) (from 2009 to 2012.), identified the medical and social features, clinical characteristics and treatment outcomes.

The predominating majority of cases in age from 25 to 44 years (65.5%) were young people of working age. In 203 (100%) patients with MDR-TB was in destructionphase, in 106 (52.2%) patients had destructive changes in both lungs, there is a combination of resistance to TB drugs I and II, which indicates the most severe resistance, difficultly capable to treatment and rehabilitation.

An effective treatment and dispensary observation complicated by feature of the social portrait of patient with tuberculosis: the workers migrants - in 20.2% of cases, in 15.8% - stay in prisons, and in 43.6% - patients did not have a permanent job.
