The results of a comprehensive examination and treatment of 141 patients with the syndrome MalloryWeiss (MWSS) are given in article.

For objectivity study patients with MWSS were divided into two groups: control group - 68 patients (49 men, 19 women) who were treated by conventional methods and basic group - 73 patients (59 and 14), which carried out a comprehensive treatment using programmedendoscopic hemostasis in combination with a preparation «Octreotide». Age of patients ranged from 19 to 78 years.

Comparative evaluation of the treatment results of patients with MWSS shows that endoscopic hemostasis software provides better clinical outcomes, reducing rebleeding from 30,1 to 12,3%, and the mortality rate - from 44,0% to 13,3%.

Method of choice for surgical treatment at the MWSS is gastrotomy and suturing the defect of the esophageal mucosa and gastric cardiaby 8-shaped stitches.
