Diagnosis and surgical treatment of Cushing syndrome

The results of surgical treatment 11 patients with Cushing’s syndrome caused by adrenal corticosteromaare analyzedin the article.
The most informative differential diagnostic criterion is to determine the level of cortisol and ACTH,extensive conductionof suppressive.tests with dexamethasone Also highly informative method of diagnosing osteoporosis at corticosteromais X-ray densitometry.
Adrenalectomyfromthoraco-phenical-lumbotomy access of affected side was performed in 8 patients, from mini-lumbotomy ones – in 3. Good results with a significant regression of symptoms occurred in 90,9% of patients, death was observed in one patient after 7 months of operation due typhoid intestinal bleeding.
In one patient 4 years after the operationcomplete restoration of disturbed functions of genitals and reproductive activity observedwith subsequent full-term pregnancy and the birth of the child.
