Hippotherapy effect on neuromuscular apparatus of body children with spastic diplegia

A comparative study of the effect of hippotherapy and classic massage with therapeutic exercises on the functional state of the central nervous system and neuromuscular system in 40 school-age children with a diagnosis of cerebral palsy in the form of spastic diplegia.

Studies have shown that following the hippotherapyprocedures , latent period of the motor reaction to light by right and left hand decreased respectively by 10,5 and 9,4%. Similar results were obtained when auditory stimuli applying.

Analysis of the data was revealed that hippotherapy compared with classic massage and physiotherapy twice as effective influence on mobility appear in the elbow joints, contributed to restrict of active extension deficit in foot right ankle joint on 10,2%, in left – on 9,3% in children with cerebral palsy.

Dynamometry indicators of right and left hand in these children have increased significantly after , hippotherapy, on 45,8 and 41,8%, respectively. The obtained results show the feasibility of

hippotherapy on the body of children with spastic forms of cerebral palsy.
