Modern technologies in the diagnosis and treatment of acute appendicitis in pregnant women

The article summarizes the results of the diagnosis and surgical treatment of 92 pregnant women with acute appendicitis at different stages of gestation. The average age of women was 23,8±4,6 (p≤0,05), with the individual variations from 18 to 37 years. The main contingent consisted pregnant women with acute appendicitis at the age of 21-30 years. In order to objectively evaluate the clinical picture, the degree of inflammation in the appendix, abdomen, and the state of the fetal circulation clinical and biochemical studies, ultrasonography with color Doppler mapping, diagnostic videolaparoscopy were applied. Most often in first trimester localization of pain was noted in the right iliac region. Second trimester dominated by pain without specific localization in 21 (22,8%) patients. In 3 trimester pain without specific localization were detected in 13 (14,1%) patients. To date, ultrasound is considered the main method of diagnosis of abdominal diseases. All admitted patients underwent to ultrasound. In our observations ultrasound are not informative in 8 (8,6%) patients who needed diagnostic videolaparoscopy.
