Dynamics of the major cardiovascular diseases and their modifiable risk factors among male population of Tajikistan

The article presents the results of re-screening study among 7193 women in the age range 15-59 years (2011) and the comparison with the data obtained during the first phase of screening (in 2001).
It was found that cardiovascular diseases caused by atherosclerosis in men develop for 7-10 years earlier than in women, and the mortality rate from coronary heart disease (CHD) among males is 21,0%.
Despite on decline in number of men with two or three risk factors, there is a tendency to increase the number of men with one and four risk factors and thereby increasing themorbidity of coronary heart disease by 0,2% (from 7,1% in 2001 to 7,3 % – in 2011) and arterial hypertension – by 5,4% (from 18,0% in 2001 to 23,4% – in 2011).
