Influence of antiretroviral therapy on the electrical ventricular systole in patients with HIV infection
Chair of internal diseases №2; Chair of Infectious Diseases, Avicenna TSMU
The results of electrocardiographic parameters of cardiac repolarization in 95 HIV-infected patients on base of antiretroviral therapy are presented. Corrected QT interval and its dispersion were studied using Bazett formula. The antiretroviral drugs improve the processes of electrical ventricular systole, which is confirmed by shortening of duration and dispersion of QT interval. This fact indicates that proposed therapy reduces the risk of sudden cardiac death.
Keywords: the duration and dispersion of the interval QT, HIV infection, antiretroviral therapy, cardiac repolarization.
