The authors studied the effect of pharmacotherapy on the bioelectrical heart activity in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD; n = 40) in combination with coronary heart disease (CHD; n = 65).

In the complex treatment of 20 patients with COPD and 30 patients with COPD combined with coronary artery disease the drug «Lisinopril» was appointed. In addition, to 20 patients with COPD and 35 patients with COPD in conjunction with CHD was administered the «Amlodipine».

Comparative analysis revealed a more intense impact of Amlodipine on mean pulmonary artery pressure as compared with Lisinopril in COPD patients (p=0,02) and in patients with COPD and CAD (p=5,57; p=0,02). Also revealed analogic influence of Amlodipin on systolic blood pressure in the pulmonary artery in compared withLisinopril: in COPD patients (p=5,23) and in COPD patients in conjunction with CHD (p=4.26; p=0,04).

Due to basic therapy by amlodipine essential dynamics of the main indicators of morphometryand left ventricle pumping function in the examined groups have not been identified, however, in patients with COPD and COPD in conjunction with coronary artery disease decreasing in end-diastolic size of right ventricle is noted.
