Modern aspects of cutaneous leishmaniasis

The literature review provides information on the epidemiology, clinical currency and treatment of cutaneous leishmaniasis. The disease is prevalent in tropical and sub-tropical countries in South America, Africa, the Mediterranean and Central Asia. In Central Asia, the main endemic areas are located in Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
In recent years, the outbreak of diseases in Tajikistan is noted. Epidemiologically most active natural foci are in Sughd and Khatlon regions of Tajikistan, where there are both rural and urban forms of cutaneous leishmaniasis. It contains a direct link between the type of pathogen and the clinical form of the disease. Methods of general and local treatment of cutaneous leishmaniasis are represented.
