Authors bring a 10-year experience of reduction rhinoplasty in 31 patients with so-called "big nose” These patients composed 7.6% from total number (804), operated for congenital and post-traumatic deformities of the nose. Average age of the patients was 24 years old. There were 20 men (64.5%) and 11 women (35.5%). Anthropometric features of the "big nose” differing from parameters of normal nose are brought. Necessary stages of reduction rhinoplasty and performing sequences of these stages are described. Clinical examples are brought with photographs of operation, which show the stages of performing operation and their sequence. All 26 observed patients showed good and satisfactory results in post operation period. Cases requiring repeated corrective interventions were not recorded. In conclusion, the authors indicated that consequent resection of cartilaginous and bony structures with change of form and nose size allowed to achieve significant improvement of aesthetic characteristics of external nose and normalization of nasal breathing.
