Medication treatment of arterial hypertension in elderly patients
Results of researches devoted to treatment of hypertension (HT) in the elderly patient presented. Main groups of antihypertensive medications (Thiazide diuretics and calcium antagonists), recommended for the therapy HT in this age were identified. Combination therapy with the use of smaller and fixeddose antihypertensive medications in moderate and severe type of hypertension in this group of patients was advisable.
