Acute varicothrombophlebitis: diagnostic and treatment tactics

The results of the diagnosis and treatment 75 patients with acute varicothrombophlebitis (AVTF) of lower extremities were analyzed in article. Diagnostic mistake in AVTF recognizing in other hospitals reached 30,7%. Conducting a comprehensive clinical and instrumental examination allowed finally establish the diagnosis in all cases and choose the best method of treatment.
Authors prefer a two-stage treatment of AVTF, in first stage- the only preventive crossectomy with conservative therapy, and subsequently, after inflammatory processes decreasing, in second sage - radical phlebectomy is performed.
For patients with combined subcutaneous and deep vein thrombophlebitis (n=4) a full course of standard conservative treatment in hospital for 7 - 12 days was conducted. The chosen treatment strategy enabled to achieve good results in 94,7% of patients in a remote period.
